Alexandra Lanz
I met Alexandra Lanz many years ago. Her son was in the same class as my son at primary school in Vienna. Alexandra Lanz very much impressed me. Here is her story.
Alexandra Lanz was alive. A young mother, a brilliant profession, a future, and a very unusual very hard past. When she was 14, Alexandra Lanz collapsed at school. She was taken to hospital. A very serious liver complaint.
She was to stay in hospital for the next 5 years.
Alexandra Lanz's life became a series of tests, suffering, and the same 4 dreary walls. Her friends came to see her. They were moving on into life. Alexandra Lanz's life was on hold. Her youth never happened at all. But, never the less, Alexandry Lanz knew she'd be better one day.
And, then, when the time came, Alexandra Lanz's operation took place. A liver transplant. The first ever liver transplant in Austria. The operation was a total success. Alexandra Lanz began getting better again. But, it was during her operation that Alexandra Lanz experienced something quite special.
An out of body experience. Alexandra Lanz was floating gently above. The surgeons were working below. This out of body experience was the most moving and wonderful thing Alexandra Lanz had ever experienced.
And, then, being firmly back in her body once more, Alexandra Lanz started living again and at speed. She studied hard and became a surgeon, she got married to Harry, and, most amazingly, achieved the impossible. Alexandra Lanz gave birth to a beautiful son. A wonderful crowning moment. A few years later, her second son arrived. Another miracle had happened. Alexandra Lanz had been told that having a baby would always be out of the question. An impossibility. It just wouldn't happen.
Alexandra Lanz discovered that there is not only a life after death, but also, and more importantly, a life before death. And, now, with husband and two brilliant sons, Alexandra Lanz is living every moment to the full.

Ich habe Alexandra Lanz vor vielen Jahren kennengelernt. Ihr Sohn war in derselben Klasse wie mein Sohn in der Volksschule in Wien. Alexandra Lanz hat mich sehr beeindruckt. Hier ist ihre Geschichte.
Alexandra Lanz war sehr glücklich und am Leben. Eine junge Mutter, ein brillanter Beruf, eine Zukunft - und eine sehr ungewöhnliche, sehr schwere Vergangenheit. Als sie 14 war, brach Alexandra Lanz in der Schule zusammen. Sie wurde ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Eine sehr schwere Lebererkrankung.
Sie sollte die nächsten 5 Jahre im Krankenhaus bleiben.
Alexandra Lanz's Leben wurde zu einer Abfolge von Tests, Leiden und denselben 4 Wänden. Ihre Freunde kamen sie besuchen. Sie machten sich gerade auf den Weg ins Leben. Alexandra Lanz's Leben stand still. Aber sie wusste, dass es ihr eines Tages besser gehen würde.
Und dann, fand die Operation von Alexandra Lanz statt. Eine Lebertransplantation. Die erste Lebertransplantation in Österreich überhaupt. Die Operation war ein voller Erfolg. Alexandra Lanz begann sich zu erholen. Aber während ihrer Operation erlebte Alexandra Lanz etwas ganz Besonderes.
Eine außerkörperliche Erfahrung. Alexandra Lanz schwebte sanft über sich selbst. Die Chirurgen arbeiteten unter ihr. Diese außerkörperliche Erfahrung war das Bewegendes und Wunderbarste, was Alexandra Lanz je erlebt hatte.
Und dann, als sie wieder fest in ihrem Körper war, begann Alexandra Lanz erneut mit voller Kraft zu leben. Sie studierte fleißig und wurde Chirurgin, sie heiratete Harry, und erreichte, was am erstaunlichsten war, das Unmögliche. Alexandra Lanz brachte einen wunderschönen Sohn zur Welt. Ein wunderbarer krönender Moment. Später kam ihr zweiter Sohn zur Welt. Ein weiteres Wunder war geschehen.
Alexandra Lanz hatte gesagt bekommen, dass es für sie niemals möglich sein würde, ein Kind zu bekommen. Eine Unmöglichkeit. Es würde einfach nicht passieren.
Alexandra Lanz entdeckte, dass es nicht nur ein Leben nach dem Tod gibt, sondern auch, und was noch wichtiger ist, ein Leben vor dem Tod. Und jetzt, mit ihre Familie, lebt Alexandra Lanz jeden Moment.
